Working together for St. Anthony Park

Neighborhood work depends on cooperation among residents, nonprofits, businesses, public agencies, institutions, and volunteers. These are some of the organizations SAPCC works with most closely.

Government

City of Saint Paul

Saint Paul’s district council system makes SAPCC the recognized council for District 12. The City’s Community Engagement program supports our work ($75,049 for 2026), and each year we file a work plan describing how we’ll share City information and bring neighbor input to the City Council, the Mayor, and City departments. We coordinate monthly with the Ward 4 Council office.

District & nonprofit

Creative Enterprise Zone

The Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ) is a district and nonprofit based in South St. Anthony Park focused on supporting creative people and businesses. CEZ grew out of a community effort to protect artist communities and launched as its own organization in early 2015. We work together on tree stewardship, including the 100 Trees Initiative, and business corridors. SAPCC’s office is in the CEZ building at 2171 University Ave W.

Innovation district

Towerside Innovation District

Towerside is a 370-acre innovation district extending from the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis east into Saint Paul, served by three Green Line stations. SAPCC appointed a representative to Towerside’s Technical Advisory Committee in 2026 and works with Towerside on tree stewardship and business corridors.

Foundation

St. Anthony Park Community Foundation

The St. Anthony Park Community Foundation supports community initiatives through grants to build and maintain a strong, vibrant St. Anthony Park. In 2026 the Foundation supported SAPCC operations, the SAP-CAN pilot, and National Night Out, and it’s a partner in building SAP-CAN. We held a Joint Annual Meeting together in 2022.

Community Council project

SAP Community Garden

The St. Anthony Park Community Garden on Robbins Street is a volunteer-run garden and a project of the St. Anthony Park Community Council. A garden steering committee provides oversight, organization, and communication, and every gardener helps care for shared spaces. Since 1981 it has grown food, flowers, prairie, and friendships, including produce for neighbors at Seal Hi-Rise.

Climate & resilience

Transition Town – ASAP

Transition Town – All St. Anthony Park (TT-ASAP) is a neighbor-led climate and resilience group and long-time SAPCC partner. It grew out of SAPCC’s 2008 Energy Resilience Group and launched with a $15,000 SAP Community Foundation grant. In 2026 TT-ASAP’s bicycle program received an $8,314 Outride award. TT-ASAP sets its own direction and programs.
